Kindermusik Village, for children newborn to 1 1⁄2 years of age, incorporates the most current research on early childhood development and provides families a special place for learning and connecting with other parents and babies through music and movement. High quality, professionally created class and At Home materials include Kindermusik Foundations of Learning, insights based on current research that educate parents about their babies' unique development.

Zoom Buggy – Swoosh, vroom, and clickety-clack your way through this delightful class. Babies and adults will dance, sing, and play instruments to the theme of being on-the-go. Chug around the room to the song “Little Red Caboose,” hold on tightly while “Riding in the Buggy,” and dance your way to “Zoom-e-oh!” Engage in rituals and playful activities such as infant massage, lap bounces, exercise, and quiet time.

Dream Pillow – This title alone brings images of rocking, cuddling, singing, and lulling to sleep. But leading up to sleepy time are many upbeat and playful activities. Babies and Adults will swirl to a dreamy cloud dance “Meet Me Tonight in Dreamland.” They’ll also play baby appropriate instruments to “Aiken Drum,” and “Sarasponda.” Favorite nursery rhymes like “Wee Willie Winkie,” and “Diddle, Diddle, Dumpling,” are sprinkled throughout the classes. It’s easy to weave many of the class songs and activities into your families’ daily routines.

Kindermusik Our Time is designed for children 1 1/2 years to 3 1/2 years of age. Along with an accompanying parent or caregiver, children meet weekly for a 50-minute class and enjoy singing, moving, listening and interacting socially, and playing simple instruments. Exploration Time encourages a child's discovery of specially designed instruments, textures, sounds and movements; language skills are fostered with singing, sound imitation, and vocal play; Music & Movement Story Time encourages emergent literacy skills; and creative dancing affirms a child's urge to move.

Milk & Cookies makes everyday home activities and chores easier and more fun with music! Cook and sing to “The Muffin Man”; dust and clean to the original song “In My House”; get ready to wash clothes to the delightful poem “Washing Machine”. Baking cookies, eating cupcakes, blowing on hot cross buns, wiggling like jelly, going grocery shopping and making tea all represented in familiar as well as new songs. Move, play, and sing together in developmentally appropriate activities created just for 1 1/2 to 3-year-olds. Capture the familiar and new moments of the day and learn how music can impact your toddler.

Young children are naturally curious about the world around them. Kindermusik Adventures draws on this curiosity and nurtures it to support each child's creative potential. Using an integrated approach with music, movement, storytelling, and pretend play, drama, and art, Adventures stimulates imagination, spontaneity, inquiry, and a love of music!

One the Road – This class makes the most of a preschooler’s burgeoning imagination and ability to learn more words and solve problems. Take imaginary trips to summer vacation locations such as the carnival, a summer cottage, and the beach. Crafts use simple materials – most can be found around the house. Parents also learn more about how music improves a preschooler’s ability to think, reason, create and express.

About the Educator

Barb Occhionero has been a licensed, trained Kindermusik Educator for nine years and has taught over 500 children in her studio.  She has also been actively involved in bringing the fun of music to various preschools in the Cleveland, Akron and Medina area.  Prior to becoming an educator, she taught clarinet lessons to students from the 5th grade to senior year in high school over a five year period.

She is passionate about teaching children of all developmental stages and abilities to love music and to be able to express themselves through music. Kindermusik has allowed her to accept each child where he is and meet his individual needs. The better she knows a child, the better she can serve him. It is a pleasure for her to get to know each of her students and their families on a personal level.

What is Kindermusik?

Kindermusik initially was developed in Germany and was brought to the U.S. in 1976 by Dan Pratt, Kindermusik’s founder. Based on research and input from many early childhood music and behavioral experts, Kindermusik brings a variety of musical and sensory experiences to every child who participates.

Each class includes opportunities for individual playing, singing, and listening while learning at his or her own pace. At every level, the Kindermusik curriculum respects and mirrors your child’s inner world with a secure, stimulating environment.

The goal isn’t to make your child a musician, but to make your child more eager to learn, more awake and wholly alive in his or her world.
